As a Junior System Administrator, you help ensure that our platform runs smoothly and reliably every day.



Tasks



Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of our Linux-based server infrastructure and work with cloud solutions like AWS Manage and optimize MySQL databases (backups, simple queries, performance checks) Use Ansible to automate recurring tasks and configuration management Assist in deploying applications and services in collaboration with our development and data teams Contribute to system monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability Help improve security and hardening of systems (updates, permissions, basic compliance) Work closely with Data Science and Engineering to support data pipelines and internal tools

Requirements



First practical experience with MySQL databases First practical experience with Ansible (e.g. playbooks, roles, inventories) Basic knowledge in Linux system administration (e.g. Debian/Ubuntu, shell, system services) Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) Experience with or interest in Python, especially in the context of Data Science (e.g. Pandas, simple scripts, data processing) Ideally some experience with additional tools such as Docker, Git, or monitoring solutions (e.g. NewRelic, Grafana, Icinga/Nagios) You work independently, reliably, and enjoy solving technical problems You have good spoken and written knowledge of German and English
