Job Description

For the Lab Applications department, we are looking for an Applied Machine Learning Engineer (x|f|m) for Sartorius Lab Instruments GmbH & Co. KG. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and supporting state-of-the-art software-enabled products for customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. In addition, you will collect requirements, prototype, design, develop, build, and document requirements, including testing and functional documentation. The goal is to define and design the products in close cooperation with product management. The job is full-time and takes place remotely on a daily basis as well as on site in Helsinki, Ann Arbor or on campus in Göttingen.

In this position, you will integrate, implement, and design machine learning models and analytics capabilities of the cloud-based and on-premises applications to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment across multiple products and services An important part of your work is working with data scientists and software engineers to build models in Cloud-|Edge-production systems In addition, optimize models for efficiency and scalability in Cloud-|Edge-Environments Furthermore, you will support rapid testing and feedback from customers and employees It is part of the position to conduct experiments and evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics Stay up-to-date on the latest advances in machine learning and AI technologies Documentation of the processes and model architectures for later reference and knowledge exchange round off your range of tasks

You have a bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree in computer science, data science, machine learning or a related field Proven programming skills in languages such as Python or C# In-depth experience in providing machine learning models for production, the development of these models is a plus You are familiar with agile product development In addition, you will bring experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, containerization technologies such as Docker, and understanding of cloud platforms and services (e.g. Azure, AWS) in the role You can handle techniques and tools for data pre-processing Your demeanor is defined by your excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as strong communication skills and ability to work together in a team environment Fluent in English both written and spoken Identification with our core values: Sustainability, Openness, Enjoyment
