The Social Sciences Department has a vacancy for the following position to be filled

at the earliest possible date:

W2 professorship (m/f/d) for Social Sciences

You are able to represent the social sciences in their entirety, with a focus on social and
digital transformation and participation in all situations and across all age groups
Proven expertise in the fundamentals of social sciences, social structure analysis, and
empirical social research methods
In addition, a solid understanding of the sociology of sustainability and its significance for
social, educational, and health-related fields of activity is desirable
Professional experience in relevant fields of social sciences, ideally with practical
relevance to social work, childhood education, or health and nursing care sciences
Experience in acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects Good English language skills and a willingness to teach courses in English, as well as
actively participate in international cooperations
Additional language skills in French and/or another foreign language are an advantage, as
is proof of international contacts and experience

Your profile

Representing the field of social sciences with a focus on social work, childhood education,
and health and nursing care in teaching, research, and continuing education


Active participation in all degree programs offered by the School of Social Sciences Strengthening the transfer of theory into practice through research-based teaching and
learning, as well as promoting students' ability to reflect on themselves


Commitment to the further development of degree programs and participation in academic
self-governance and exam duties


Dedicated participation in furthering the faculty and the university Participation in applied research projects – including those in the international context of the
Greater Region – as well as establishing and maintaining cooperations with professional


practice and research institutes


A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary collaboration Offering courses in English On-site presence at the university in order to provide optimal support for students
