Job Description

The Vice President of Strategy & M&A will be a visionary and results-driven leader responsible for shaping the strategic direction and inorganic growth of the Nemetschek Group Design Division. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, this role will accelerate business transformation through M&A, partnerships, and strategic initiatives across global brands including ALLPLAN, Graphisoft, Vectorworks, Risa, dTwin, Solibri, and dRofus. This individual will be pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and executing opportunities that drive market expansion, technological leadership, and value creation in the rapidly evolving AEC software landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead all strategic planning and M&A activities for the Nemetschek Group Design Division, including deal sourcing, diligence, negotiations, and integration.

Develop and communicate strategic frameworks and inorganic growth roadmaps aligned with Division and Group vision.

Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize external growth opportunities (acquisitions, investments, partnerships) that advance product, technology, and market positioning.

Conduct rigorous competitive landscape and market analysis, identifying emerging trends, technologies, and disruptive innovators relevant to the AEC sector.

Own the full lifecycle of transactions from initial opportunity to successful integration, ensuring delivery of synergies and cultural fit.

Build trusted relationships with external stakeholders (investment banks, advisors, targets, shareholders) and foster collaboration among Group brands.

Provide leadership for post-merger integration, change management, and value realization across diverse, international teams.

Champion a culture of strategic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Strategy & M&A organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other AEC related field.

7–10 years’ senior leadership experience in strategy, M&A, investment banking, or management consulting within the technology or AEC sectors.

Proven track record of leading complex cross-border M&A transactions, partnerships, and integrations.

Deep industry knowledge of AEC software, BIM, cloud-based collaboration, and digital transformation trends.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience advising senior stakeholders.

Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modeling, market research, and strategic analysis.

Fluent in English - additional languages are a plus (German, French etc)

Location:

prefered Munich, but will consider London or Paris
