Participate in design and ensure implementation of the business development strategy to generate new/ additional business, maximize profit and grow market share for a defined geographic region in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies

Principal accountabilities

Overview

The Lifestyle sector captures brands and businesses centered around

consumer identity, self-expression, and experience-driven products

, spanning both premium and mass-market segments. It connects luxury, fashion, beauty, sports, home, and leisure categories — all driven by fast-changing consumer trends, omni-channel distribution, and the fusion of retail and digital ecosystems.

Leads and drives performance of the Lifestyle sector, with a focus on Retail and Luxury sub-sectors. Holds overall responsibility for global sector and customer development across both Consumer and Retail, leading regional sector heads in a matrix organization (approx. 4 FTE). Develops and executes sales strategies to acquire, grow, and retain customers in high-end fashion, accessories, and lifestyle markets. Combines strong logistics expertise, sales leadership, and a deep understanding of luxury customer expectations, including service excellence, discretion, and handling of high-value goods. Defines and delivers the annual growth plan, aligned with global, regional, and country targets. Identifies and prioritizes target customers and brands within the Lifestyle segment to drive strategic growth. Development of Global and Regional plans to achieve short- and medium-term strategy targeting growth in not only the core Air & Ocean business but include strategies on encompassing OMS, OMS Light into our customer portfolio. Distinguishing between very short-term growths (current portfolio of retail/ Luxury brands. Focus on acquisition of new logos with higher margin expectations. Maintaining links across DHL Group network Globally actively engaging X-BU activity with DHL Supply Chain & DHLE focus on customer solutions, joint initiatives, and synergies. Partners closely with product teams to define solution requirements and align country engagement for effective execution. Steers and monitors sales performance through clear processes, KPIs, and performance management. Manages the global, regional, and country customer portfolio for the Lifestyle sector, ensuring coordinated development across key accounts. Oversees RFI/RFQ/tender submissions and pricing strategies in alignment with regional and global frameworks. Ensures close cross-product collaboration with OMS, Ocean, Air, Road, and Customs Brokerage (CDZ) to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience

Proven successful sales/business development, with solid demonstrated commercial skills within freight forwarding Understanding of the retail and luxury requirements by product Freight forwarding knowledge / experience Ability to operate in a matrix organization Outgoing and structured with some attention to details. 10+ years FF experience 10+ years’ experience within commercial function 5+ years in business development role or Commercial Role 10 years seniority with a certain level of rank enabling to provide a steer in a matrix organisation as well as communicating at senior management level.
