Team Lead Tactical Purchasing (m/f/d)
Position Summary
In this role, you will lead the tactical purchasing team to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, supporting steady material availability for production and achieving inventory goals. You will develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement. You will also adopt, maintain, and develop PFEP (Plan for Every Part) in cooperation with Global Procurement.
General Responsibilities
LeadershipLead, coach, and develop the tactical procurement team to continuously achieve and improve projected goals. Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Mentor direct reports, supporting their professional growth and succession planning. Allocate workload and monitor performance against KPIs.

Operational Purchasing & Supply Chain ManagementEnsure timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality control of production materials. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs and streamline procedures. Ensure material availability in the supply chain as scheduled, maintaining inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials and outside services, coordinating global procurement efforts.

Process Optimization & Continuous ImprovementDefine, implement, and manage KANBAN tools for eligible materials. Actively participate in cost reduction programs and continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate with finance/accounting on inventory right-sizing. Drive automation and digitalization initiatives within tactical purchasing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Phase In / Out ProcessSource materials and supplies in collaboration with R&D during the design phase. Procure materials and release orders during pilot production. Minimize exposure to excess and obsolete inventory write-offs and reworks. Work closely with planning, logistics, and quality teams to align purchasing activities with business needs. Support projects related to supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.

Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain. Several years of experience in Purchasing, with proven leadership experience. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong experience with ERP systems; knowledge of SAP S4 Hana preferred. Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. Travel up to 10%
