Our \xc2\xbbSatellite Based Positioning Systems\xc2\xab department focuses on the development of receiver components and systems that utilize Global Navigation Satellite Systems - GNSS, i.e. GPS or Galileo and their upcoming improvements for satellite-based localization. Based on these receiver technologies, we develop innovative solutions and support the industry by introducing new products onto the market that secure time and location information in new energy and communication networks, thus promoting the energy turnaround and Germany\'s pioneering role on the world stage.

What you will do
  • As part of a national team, you will develop server-based technologies for secure environments and a next-generation secure, satellite-based positioning application.
  • By addressing different applications, demands, and new potential products in the industry, you will help to define system requirements, including feedback on limitations and feasibility.
  • Furthermore, you will perform engineering activities to deliver secure timing and positioning applications to the customer.
What you bring to the table
  • University degree in engineering, computer science, medical science, mathematics or another related field
  • Strong programming experience in C/C++ and Python
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, especially Linux-based, is an advantage
  • Interest in localization, digital signal processing, satellite navigation area, cryptography, VHDL
  • Understanding of software engineering principles including requirements definition, system architecture, implementation, and testing is a plus
  • EU citizenship simplifies participation in all types of projects
  • Good communication skills in English, additional German language skills are a plus

The position is initially limited to 2 years with the aim to extend it subsequently. The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis with a preference, however, to have it filled as close to a full-time position as possible.
