We are currently looking for a

(Senior) Controlling & FP&A Manager (all genders)

preferably based in Berlin or working remotely in Germany.

Your mission with us:

As a

(Senior) Controlling & FP&A Manager

, you will be a key member of our high-performing finance team. You will

drive financial insights

,

optimize controlling processes

, and

enhance forecasting and reporting

frameworks that inform critical strategic and operational decisions.

You will work closely with the

Head of FP&A

,

CFO

, and

Chief Strategy Officer

, and collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Data, Product, Marketing, and Operations. You will also contribute to the

automation and scalability

of our financial systems as Lingoda continues to grow.

Your tasks:

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead or support monthly and quarterly

forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning

cycles across Revenue, Margin, OPEX, and Cash Flow.

Own and develop advanced financial models

for scenario, sensitivity, and cohort analyses to support decision-making. Analyze

actual vs. budget

performance, identify variances, and provide clear, actionable insights on business drivers. Prepare

management and investor-grade reports

, KPI dashboards, and board presentations. Conduct deep-dive analyses into

unit economics and subscription metrics

(e.g. CLV, CAC, churn, payback). Partner with cross-functional teams (Strategy, Marketing, Product) to align on forecasts and evaluate commercial initiatives. Support

automation, process standardization, and digitization

within FP&A and Controlling

Controlling & Performance Management

Ensure

financial accuracy and compliance

with accounting and reporting standards Perform

cost center controlling

, tracking spend, identifying savings opportunities, and improving cost efficiency Conduct

variance and trend analyses

to support performance reviews and operational decision-making. Manage

OPEX and headcount reporting

, ensuring transparency and accountability across departments. Contribute to the

monthly closing and reporting cycle

in close collaboration with Accounting and Data teams. Enhance

internal controls, reporting accuracy, and data consistency

through process improvements and tool optimization.

Strategic Business Partnering

Deliver clear insights on

business trends, profitability drivers, and risks/opportunities

across the P&L and cash flow. Support strategic initiatives, pricing, and investment decisions with robust financial analyses and recommendations. Translate complex financial data into

concise, impactful narratives

for senior leadership and investors. Play an active role in shaping a

best-in-class FP&A & Controlling function

that enables scalable growth.

You bring to Lingoda

Experience & Background

Minimum

5 years of experience

in FP&A, Controlling, Consulting, Audit, or Investment Banking. Proven experience in a

PE/VC-backed environment

or high-growth scale-up preferred. Exposure to

subscription-based, SaaS, or digital business models

is a strong plus. University degree in

Finance, Economics, or Business Administration

(or similar).

Skills

Advanced

Excel / Google Sheets

proficiency; experience with

FP&A or BI tools

(e.g. Tableau, Planful, Abacum etc.) preferred. Strong

financial modeling and analytical capabilities

, including scenario and cohort analysis. Excellent understanding of

financial statements, P&L dynamics, and cost structures

. Solid knowledge of

controlling principles

, cost allocation, and variance analysis. Fluency in English, German language skills are a plus!

Mindset & Culture

Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented; a

true business partner

with a proactive mindset. Confident communicator who can explain financial topics to non-financial stakeholders. Comfortable working

independently in a fast-paced, international environment

. Motivated to build a

PE-grade FP&A & Controlling function
