As a (Senior) Account Executive – Retail & Fast Moving Consumer Goods (m/f/x), you will have the opportunity to develop new business opportunities and support us in developing innovative solutions for the retail and consumer goods industry. We are looking for you to join our team full-time at our locations in Berlin or Düsseldorf as soon as possible.
In the Consumer Cluster, we work in interdisciplinary teams on projects in the areas of retail, wholesale, consumer and luxury goods, telecommunications, media, and entertainment. Our client base includes well-known, successful blue chip companies, whom we have been supporting in their digital transformation for many years. We set new standards for the digitalization of the industry and support our clients in transforming their services, processes, and sales channels and adapting them to the growing demands of users. The focus is always on an appealing and intuitive customer journey.
Your tasks
As an Account Executive – Retail & FMCG (m/f/x), you bring with you a promising and strong network of industry contacts, have extensive knowledge of industry trends and challenges, and can skillfully apply our portfolio and partnerships in customer meetings
As an industry expert, you speak your customer’s language – you understand the workflows, processes, and industry-specific challenges of the customer journey along data-driven marketing, commerce, sales, and service at your customer’s site
You support your team and your clusters in further developing our key target accounts – whether in network expansion, strategic account planning, or developing value propositions for customers
You have a comprehensive understanding of our service portfolio, can identify problems and challenges at the customer’s site, and can link these to our service offerings
You identify sales potential at your target accounts – through strategic nurturing of existing or new contacts, through strong interaction with our ISV and cloud partners, and through targeted account-based marketing measures
You regularly work on various offers and pitch presentations – sometimes taking the lead and sometimes supporting your colleagues
You represent IBM iX at trade shows, customer events, and partner events, and establish new contacts and prospects that could be relevant to your sales efforts
Together with our practice leads, expert leads, and SMEs, you will create quick-witted value propositions for our target customers in the form of presentations, offers, and tailor-made solutions
As part of the IBM network, you will enjoy drawing on IBM’s global network and working with international colleagues, teams, reference customers, and partners
Ultimately, you will be independently responsible for the entire sales and quotation process – from initiating contact to concluding the contract
Your skills
You have at least 5 years of professional experience in digital consulting or strategic development for target customers in the retail and consumer goods industry (target customer size > €1 billion annual revenue)
You have at least 5 years of experience in account management, sales, and/or P&L responsibility for one or more customers
You have a university degree (preferably with a focus on digital media/marketing/IT)
You have extensive industry expertise (solutions, technologies, processes, best practices, etc.) along digital touchpoints and can apply this knowledge in customer discussions
You are a trusted advisor and networker: whether at a customer workshop, a trade event, or dinner with your customer, you are always well informed, well prepared, and able to charmingly elevate conversations to a qualitative level
Your excellent communication and negotiation skills enable you to interact successfully with a wide range of stakeholders
You have an established, proven network in the German retail and consumer goods industry
You have an intrinsic interest in retail and consumer brands and their development, and you are passionate about preparing these dynamic industries for the new AI era
You are fluent in German (C2) and have a good command of English (at least B2)
You are willing to travel approximately 50% of the time (2.5 days/week)
