The Cologne Cluster of Excellence on Aging and Aging-


associated Diseases (CECAD) aims to define the molecular


and cellular mechanisms underlying the aging process as


potential novel targets for prevention, early diagnosis, treat-

ment of aging-associated diseases and to foster healthy


aging. To establish the new platform “Science Communica-

tion, Public Relations, and Visibility,” a team of three part-

time positions with different areas of responsibility will be set


up at the CECAD office.

YOUR TASKS



You are responsible for further developing and implementing


communication strategies that enhance CECAD’s public


outreach, and foster strong relationships with science,


media, stakeholders, and the public. This role involves man-

aging both internal and external communications, ensuring


consistent and effective messaging across all channels. This


includes

»

Public relations & Media Management: relationships with


media outlets, write and distribute press releases, news


updates, etc. and coordinate media coverage for events



»

Strategic communication: create and implement


comprehensive communication strategies, develop


and ensure brand consistency



»

Content creation: produce engaging content for press


materials, newsletters, websites, blogs, and social media


in collaboration with PR offices of the University, Uni-

versity Hospital and CECAD partners



»

Management and monitoring of social media and digital


presence



»

Support CECAD Office in internal communication


initiatives



»

Represent CECAD in the division 8 of the University


YOUR PROFILE



»

Completed university degree in communication,


journalism and/or completed university degree in


science, preferably in biology, life sciences or


biomedicine and work experience as journalist



»

Proven experience in science communication or press


and public relations; Interest in scientific topics and the


ability to communicate them to diverse audiences



»

Proficiency in all communication tools, including print,


online, and social media platforms.


»

Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs is


required, knowledge in the use of content management


software is preferred



»

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both


English and German



»

Capability of working effectively both independently and


as part of a team to achieve organizational goals


»

You would like to work in a scientific environment and


are interested to transfer CECAD‘s research and support


our community

The position is available immediately on a part-time basis


(19,92 hours per week). The position is to be filled for

the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of


the pay scale for the German public sector.
