Scope full time and for a maximum of 36 months The Institute of Control Systems (ICS) is seeking to fill a full-time post-doctoral research position in the BMFTR funded-project "DEEP - Empowering Data Efficiency In Embedded Processors with Artificial Intelligence". The main objective of the DEEP project is to contribute efficiently and effectively to overcoming the challenges of digitalization for large-scale research facilities. Specifically, we enable the application of extremely fast machine learning and control methods. We focus on embedded parallel processors and develop the missing tools, build world-leading expertise for the next generation of system-on-a-chip hardware. The goal of the ICS within DEEP is to apply these tools for anomaly classification and control for the particle accelerators at DESY. This project is part of the research group of Prof. Annika Eichler in ICS and closely interlinked to the project partner Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, and the firmware team within the group MSK (Acclerator Beam Controls). Further partners are the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), University of Bonn, University of Freiburg and SiMa Technologies Germany GmbH.
