„Achieve more in practice“ – this slogan characterizes study live at the Faculty of Computer Science/Mathematics of the HTW Dresden for approx. 750 students in the fields (Applied) Computer Science as well as Media, Administrative and Business Informatics.



The HTWD is seeking to fill a full-time position as a Researcher in Nursing Science/Didactics (f/m/x) with the opportunity to pursue a doctorate starting on 1 November 2025 and ending on 31 October 2028.



How can teaching and learning scenarios for nursing be made more realistic and effective using hybrid and immersive simulation? And how can clinical, social and communication skills be addressed equally? These are the questions addressed by the MILE (Multimodal Immersive Learning Environments for Healthcare Education) junior research group. Here, young researchers from the disciplines of university didactics, computer science, design and nursing science work together to explore new solutions for learning in the healthcare professions, supported by mixed reality and AI technologies. The group is being set up by HTWD in collaboration with the Protestant University of Dresden (ehs) and uses, among other things, the ehs's nursing simulation laboratory. Four experienced professors from the participating disciplines are accompanying the young researchers in the development of their own research focus – with the aim of obtaining a doctorate.

Your Tasks:

Establishing your own research focus within MILE, which you will further develop as part of a doctoral programme, in collaboration with other young scientists involved and mentors from various disciplines Content development and implementation of hybrid and immersive simulation scenarios in a multi-professional team for a specific clinical focus Research into the benefits and challenges of the simulation scenarios developed

Your Profile:

To complete the multi-professional team at MILE, we are looking for a person with a university degree in nursing, nursing science, or nursing education and the appropriate research spirit to advance the development of simulation-based learning and set their own focus. Knowledge in the development and implementation of simulation-based teaching and learning scenarios is desirable. You can contribute your own clinical-practical focus and deepen it within the framework of teaching research. Knowledge and practical experience with empirical research and methodological skills are required. German and English are our working languages. We are looking for applicants who are comfortable in both languages – or who are willing to actively develop their language skills.



The remuneration is based on the collective agreement for employees of the public service of the federal states (TV-L) and is planned in accordance with the personal requirements in pay group 13.
