Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
We are opening a new Research Associate position in the attosecond science team at the Center for Free- Electron Laser Science (CFEL) in Hamburg. In the CFEL-ATTO group we develop advanced attosecond technology with the aim of tracking and controlling electron dynamics in matter. More specifically, our technology allows us to follow charge migration occurring on a few femtosecond time scale in bio-chemically relevant molecules. In this context, the Research Associate will conduct experiments on chiral molecular systems on the electronic time scale in order to develop schemes where electronic excitation can be exploited in order to control the photoreactivity of the targets in an enantioselective manner. The Research Associate will conduct experiments with our recently developed beamline combining sub-2fs UV pulses with XUV attosecond pulse and few-femtosecond infrared pulses. The measurements will use photoelectrons and spin- resolved detection techniques.
