Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time
Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
A key task will be the development of novel strategies for generating intense optical pulses tunable from the multi-THz to the mid-infrared spectral range at multi-kilohertz repetition rates. These light sources will then be applied to investigate photo-induced non-equilibrium phases in complex condensed matter systems, including ferroic and superconducting materials.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.
The applicant is expected to have strong expertise in the development or use of far-infrared, sub-picosecond light sources, especially those based on nonlinear optical techniques such as optical parametric amplification, difference-frequency generation, or optical rectification. Comparable experience in characterizing the generated light fields and applying them in time-resolved optical spectroscopy is also required. Familiarity with current problems in condensed matter physics would be an asset, but is not essential.
