Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
We are seeking an outstanding PhD candidate to join our research group in the field of Climate Finance. The successful applicant will contribute to cutting-edge research on the impact of climate risks—particularly climate extremes—on financial markets, as well as the role of financial markets in supporting the green transition. The position includes the application of state-of-the-art machine learning methods and large language models to generate and analyze new data in climate finance as well as the development of advanced financial models that integrate climate risks into asset pricing and market dynamics.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field.
a strong quantitative background in Economics, Finance, or a related field
solid programming skills (ideally in Python, Matlab, or R)
interest in advanced quantitative methods, including Machine Learning and Large Language Models
strong interest in developing and analyzing advanced financial models that incorporate climate risks, in particular climate extremes
high motivation to conduct independent and innovative research at the intersection of climate science and financial economics
