A postdoctoral position (f/m/x) in the field of mathematical


optimization is available in the research group led by Prof


Dr Frank Vallentin.

YOUR TASKS

»

Teaching courses (e.g., Introduction to the Mathematics


of Operations Research)

»

Supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses

»

Participation in the joint research activities of the


group, which conducts research at the intersections


of mathematical optimization, discrete mathematics,


geometry, algebra, and computer science

YOUR PROFILE

An outstanding PhD in mathematics with a focus on


optimization (in exceptional cases, the degree may


be submitted later)

Clear connections to discrete mathematics, geo-


metry, or harmonic analysis, demonstrated by


excellent publications.

basis (39,83 hours per week). It is limited to 3 years.


If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements

remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the


German public sector.
