Policy Adviser

The New Zealand Embassy in Berlin represents New Zealand in Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein. We promote New Zealand’s interests, support New Zealand businesses, foster cultural exchange, and build people-to-people connections.

We are seeking a

Policy Adviser

to join our team and support the Embassy’s policy work including in climate, green transition, science, Pacific and development areas, as well as lead our social media communications.

Your responsibilities

· Monitor and analyse political and economic developments in Germany and countries of accreditation,

· Drafting reports, briefings and policy advice

· Organise official visits and meetings

· Support engagement with German Länder and cross-accredited countries

· Identify and build relationships with key contacts and influencers

· Represent the Embassy at conferences, workshops and events

· Lead the Embassy’s social media presence and contribute to public diplomacy initiatives

Your profile

· Tertiary qualification (Bachelor level or higher)

· Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German

· Strong analytical and research skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities

· Experience in policy, international relations and communications is an advantage

· Legally entitled to live and work in Germany
