Position Job Title: OHSE Manager

Line Manager’s Job Title: Plant General Manager AF Teningen




Contract Length: Permanent






Job Purpose





Provides overall support of all matters related to OHSE for AF-Teningen. Is responsible for deploying AFEMEA strategic initiatives. Supports development of initiatives together with plant management and OHSE team for the plant. Is responsible for fulfilment of legal requirements, AFEMA-policies in line with regulations and corporate guidelines.


Job Dimensions, Scope & Career Perspective





The role is based at and responsible for OHSE at the Teningen facility, reporting into the General Manager. The team reporting into the role includes 1 direct report. Responsibility for annual operational and capital OHSE budget. The logical career path would be as a Technician preferred with the background out of a production role.


Principal Accountabilities




Drive OHSE culture within plant Teningen to achieve and sustain “Zero Injuries”. In collaboration with the SMT drive all aspects of Health and Safety and Environmental standards and performance on site. Practices and ensuring active exchange of Best Practice between other Amcor plants. Provide monthly accident and ignition statistics and all other relevant KPI`s. Planning and supervising of safety measures. Auditing own plant and other AFEMEA plants with respect to OHSE requirements. Maintain Integrated Management System regarding OHSE including external yearly certifications. Monitoring and plotting of OHSE incidents including analysing and defining of proper measures. Training and supervising of contractors and updating of contractor policies regarding OHSE. Perform and train co-workers in risk assessment process. Define and develop Standard Operation procedures for all relevant tasks and processes. Establish and maintain an effective relationship with employees, employees’ representatives and external partners eg. Governments, insurers, plant doctor as well as communities. Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and AFEMEA requirements, standards e.g. ISO-norms, OHSAS, 18.001, FDA, BRC. Provide directions for effective implementation of fire safety instructions and initiatives such as ATEX and fire protection systems – support and drive effective prevention program which leads in zero fire losses.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS



1. Formal Qualifications and Experience



Ideally degree level qualification (Engineering, Science or Operations based) or equivalent experience through practical work in industrial environment. Experience in production environment with diverse technologies and with exhaust air cleaning systems e.g. regenerative thermal oxidiser would be a distinct advantage

.





2. Specific Skills and Abilities



An ability to motivate co-workers in OHSE performance. Key skills and experience in OHSE are essential. A liking for Quality Improvement and Continuous Improvement is subserving.


3. Work experience





4 – 5 years experience in an industrial environment


4. Languages





German (fluent), English.


5. Other

Ability of bridging conflicting interests of concerned parties.
