Tesla is seeking highly motivated post-secondary interns to develop and engineer new processes and high-volume automation equipment. You will work closely with Tesla’s internal Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Facilities, Production and Quality Engineering teams and coordinate cross-functional activities with equipment vendors to develop new paint manufacturing systems. You will assume full ownership of the design and technical transfer of the line’s tools to Tesla Operations, qualifying them for use with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output.
What You'll Do
Support in designing, installation, commissioning of manufacturing equipment according to Tesla requirements
Contribute and lead energy optimization initiatives with a focus on HVAC systems and thermo-processing equipment
Support workplace improvement initiatives with a focus on safety and ergonomics
Support on engineering testing and manufacturing equipment trials
Review of compliance with all guidelines, norms, safety and accident prevention regulations
Provide analysis of production data, equipment KPIs and process data.
Learn how to maintain day-to-day stakeholder relationships.
Develop and apply technical project management skills.
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
Hands-on experience within a personal or academic project is a must.
Excellent grasp of engineering fundamentals and sense of physics principles
Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematic drawings, process flow diagrams and formulas.
Strong analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to learn concepts quickly.
Skills and knowledge that could be a plus:
Experience with 2D drawing software
Working in a high-volume factory environment
Python and data engineering tools
Fluid dynamics simulation
