The internship assignment


The Battery Equipment Engineering team is responsible for the lifetime maintenance of the manufacturing equipment in the Battery facility. Within our department, the working student will be responsible, under supervision, for reverse engineering equipment spare parts and machine consumables. You will report to Staff Equipment Engineering staff and will play a vital role in designing machine improvements. You will interface with various engineering leads across the different manufacturing lines, as well as interact with different external automation component vendors.

What You'll Do

+ Working with engineering staff to collect 3D CAD data and with internal equipment engineers to audit and correct CAD data + Learning how to verify accuracy of CAD data, machine drawings, and equipment BOMs as well as and push external vendors for collecting “AS BUILT” data
+ Store all tooling data in our Solidworks PDM system
+ Review machine drawings for accuracy (material callouts, part finish, and note critical dimensions)
+ Audit machine Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and that no deviations are present on machines on the floor
+ Take a hands on approach to verifying your work – take measurements, ask questions, and have fun learning about machines

What You'll Bring

+ Very good knowledge of English, German is a plus + Experience with 3D CAD systems (Solidworks preferred)
+ Willingness to be hands on, and work in a manufacturing environment
+ Good knowledge in the use of common MS Office applications
+ Analyze problems and find solutions in a structured manner
+ Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented
+ Ability to work in a team as well as in an organized and independent manner
