The Cell Development team is responsible for validating battery cells produced at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, qualifying second source supplier parts, developing next generation of battery cells, modules and packs. A Cell Equipment Engineering Interns designs, builds and validates test equipment and also supports high-impact testing. At Tesla scope and complexity of your assignments are limited by your aptitude not seniority or title.

What You'll Do
Learn to work in cross-discipline to use first principal approach for test equipment design, commissioning and optimization
Support design and commissioning of test equipment for cell lifetime and abuse/safety tests including mechanical design and software/automation
Learn about and apply fabrication methods to deliver test equipment quickly
Perform and evaluate tests for equipment commissioning and product-release
Create documentation and establish processes for testing and equipment service; train colleagues as needed
What You'll Bring
Requirements - technical
3D Design/CAD skills and creation of fundamental wiring and hydraulics diagrams is required
Experience with Labview and Data acquisition systems is a plus
Initial experience in MATLAB/Python or other software for data processing is required, SQL is a plus
Experience with PIDs is a plus
Hands on working attitude with workshop experience is preferable
Requirements - Experience & education
Studying in relevant subject (electrical, mechanical, process, automotive, chemical engineering OR computer engineering, physics or similar with hands-on mindset)
Initial experience in an OEM or equipment/machine manufacturer is a plus
Requirements - Soft Skills
Fluency in English, German is a plus
Analytical and problem-solving oriented mindset, proactive and structured work mentality
A strong team player, who is capable of working in a fast paced and always changing environment; project management experience or foundations are a plus
