Job Summary

The

Heavy Equipment Operator

reports to and receives assignments from the Foreman or General Foreman and is responsible for operating designated heavy machinery or equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in multiple environments. Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any issues to the supervisor. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Follow the directions given by ground guides. Continuously analyze the work environment for hazards and stop operations, if required, to correct hazards. Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

(Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Must have a verifiable heavy equipment operator’s certification or license. Requires proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment, such as Graders, Rollers, Dozers, 8k-30k Forklifts, and Container Handlers/Rough Terrain Container Handlers (RTCH) Requires a strong understanding of and adherence to safety procedures, protocols, and guidelines for heavy equipment operation. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift, crouch, bend, reach and climb in all weather conditions. Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
