Why This Role Is Right for You

As a Junior Backend Developer, you’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team based in Köln, Eschborn, München and Berlin. Together, we work on design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will work closely with senior developers to build and maintain backend components, improve performance and reliability, and contribute to modern, cloud-native application development.

About Your Future Role

In this position, you will:


Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Python Design and manage relational databases, primarily using PostgreSQL Build and integrate RESTful APIs and support microservices-based architectures Participate in Scrum meetings, code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing Write unit and integration tests to ensure high software quality Assist in deploying and monitoring applications on AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) Assist in debugging, performance tuning, and incident resolution

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Solid programming skills in Java and/or Python Basic experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch) Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

Bonus Skills:

Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP, and web services Understanding of microservices architecture and containerized deployment Version control with GitHub and basic knowledge of CI/CD practices Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
