Job Description

Voyager is a small, high-velocity team investing in the foundational industries of the future. We’re looking for an Investor based in Germany to lead and manage our investment work in Europe and support our global portfolio of climate technology companies. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, entrepreneurial, and excited to shape a better future through early-stage technology investment.

Location: Germany. Preference for Munich. Travel across Europe is expected, with occasional travel to North America Languages: Fluent German; fluent English

Principle Responsibilities



Lead the full lifecycle of Voyager’s investment work, from sourcing to diligence to close Support and accelerate the success of Voyager portfolio companies post-investment With the broader Voyager team, develop investment theses on the future of energy, deep tech, and climate tech Further Voyager’s community in Europe and represent Voyager publicly at events, in the media, and across the broader tech ecosystem

Tactical Investment Execution



Lead the full investment process: sourcing, screening, diligence, and closing Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive engagement with founders, labs, accelerators, and co-investors across Europe Guide and manage junior team members throughout the research and diligence process Conduct and lead technical diligence on emerging climate technologies, in collaboration with researchers and domain experts Prepare and present investment memos for internal review
Coordinate deal execution and closing logistics with legal and investment partners

Thesis Development & Market Research



Formulate and refine investment theses in collaboration with the broader investment team Lead and structure research efforts across markets, technologies, and sectors relevant to climate tech and advanced industrial systems
Identify emerging trends and white spaces with potential for outsized commercial traction and impact

Portfolio Support



Work closely with portfolio companies post-investment to support growth, fundraising, talent, and go-to-market efforts Provide analytical support and serve as a thought partner to founders Participate in board representation or observation as appropriate
Facilitate business development opportunities and ecosystem connections across Voyager’s network

Platform & Firm Representation



Represent Voyager externally in media, at conferences, with founders, investors, academic institutions, and public-sector partners Help build Voyager’s visibility and brand in Europe’s climate tech ecosystem Cultivate a personal network of founders, co-investors, and technical leaders in climate and deep tech Support firm-level fundraising and LP communications as needed Build a personal brand in climate tech investing alongside Voyager

Requirements



2-5 years of experience in venture capital Demonstrated track record of outstanding execution in fast-moving, high-growth environments (e.g., as a founder, engineer, chief of staff, strategic operator, or product leader) A proven ability to look around corners, tackle ambiguous challenges, and drive outcomes under uncertainty Strong analytical and research skills, including experience with financial modeling, venture valuation techniques, and market mapping Familiarity with deep tech and climate technologies – either through investing, operating, technical study, or close collaboration with technical teams Strong interest in building a long-term personal brand in climate tech investing Preference for candidates with a large and growing network across early-stage founders, technical operators, and co-investors in Europe Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in German and English Demonstrated experience sourcing and leading early-stage investments (pre-seed to Series A) and working closely with founding teams post-investment Confidence and comfort engaging with technical founders, especially those building in energy, industrials, advanced materials, and AI infrastructure Collaborative and low-ego, with a proactive, self-directed work style Interest in mentoring and managing Analysts and Associates * Curiosity and genuine delight in technology’s potential to create a better future
