Independent organisation and implementation of occupational health and safety and environmental protection measures within the company. Provision of expert advice to senior management, department heads and specialists regarding legal obligations and measures. Active restructuring of the organisational structure to promote a preventive occupational health and safety policy.
Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)
Active implementation and enforcement of occupational health and safety and environmental protection measures in the company in accordance with legal and trade association requirements
Review and legally compliant restructuring of the organisational and procedural structure of occupational health and safety and environmental protection measures in the company
Documentation of the organisational and procedural structure in the company's QHSE management system QWiki
Subject-related, sustainable design, organisation and supervision of topic-related training in cooperation with the human resources department and department heads (qualification matrix)
Budget-oriented organisation of all subject-related training measures and organisation of qualification maintenance. (Training, further education and training, in-house and external)
Organisation and support of first aiders, safety officers, fire safety assistants and other specially qualified persons
Organisation and implementation of topic-related training, establishment of a training management system with the aid of QWiki and integration and further development in/of SOAR (e-learning)
Preventive creation and corrective review of risk assessments, resulting in the implementation of qualification measures for the transfer of duties and tasks to qualified persons within the company
Assumption of organisational and operational responsibility for the Occupational Safety Committee (ASA)
Support for externally appointed specialists (company doctor/occupational safety specialist [specialist])
Reviewing and updating existing procedural, operational and work instructions and creating new ones as necessary
Implementing a sustainable, legally compliant hazardous substances register and hazardous substances management system using QWiki, and developing measures to reduce hazardous substances in the workplace (use/procurement)
Active participation in the operational organisation of flood and inundation hazard prevention and support for related environmental protection issues
Investigation and evaluation of occupational accidents, minor accidents and near misses, organisation of necessary documentation for the derivation of protective measures
Complete management of the EHS Insight system (group-wide HSE portal)
Implementation and consideration of group-wide HSE issues with regular exchange and reporting, as well as active representation of the company at international group level
Monitoring of technical and legal developments in the field of activity
Training/Qualifications
Completed training as an occupational safety specialist (ASiG §7)
When changing industries, qualification event at the BG for the wood and metal industry (learning field 6) – catch-up possible
Further training as an industrial/metal master craftsman, technician or completed degree in engineering (master's or bachelor's degree from university/university of applied sciences/technical university)
In the case of a degree programme, technical subjects are preferred
Key Skills
Industry experience in mechanical engineering and production, preferably in the metalworking industry
Independent, systematic and self-reliant approach to work• Self-reliant, well-structured working style
Business fluent written and spoken German and English
Proficient in MS Office and common presentation techniques in German and English
Confident manner and experience in dealing with management, department heads, employees, visitors and customers in an international environment
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Navision)
At least 3 years of professional experience in industry/trade
At least 2 years of professional experience as an occupational safety specialist (proof required)
In-depth knowledge of occupational safety and health protection
Good knowledge and experience in handling materials and manufacturing large equipment, as well as in the use of hazardous substances
Experience in organising and conducting training courses and instruction
Knowledge and experience with OSHA regulationsExperience with document management systems
QHSE Competencies
Maintain behaviour in compliance with Forum HSE requirements
Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour
Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
