Job Description

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.


We are seeking a highly strategic and analytical professional as Head of Strategy.


In this role, you will drive the definition and implementation of the company’s long-term strategy, monitor execution, and identify opportunities for growth through market intelligence, M&A, and strategic partnerships. You will also act as a key interface with investors, the board, and regional stakeholders — particularly in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

Define and implement the company’s long-term strategic plan, ensuring alignment with internal objectives and external trends. Break down high-level strategic goals into actionable, measurable plans across departments and teams. Track execution of strategic initiatives, identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.

Market & Competitive Analysis

Conduct ongoing market research and competitive intelligence to identify risks, trends, and new opportunities. Translate findings into strategic insights that inform decision-making at the executive level.

Performance Measurement

Define, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success against strategic goals. Regularly report on performance and recommend adjustments to stay on track.

Strategic Roadmap Management

Own and continuously update the company’s strategic roadmap. Recommend reprioritization or reallocation of resources in response to changing business conditions.

M&A and Strategic Projects

Lead end-to-end M&A activities: opportunity identification, due diligence, financial modeling, negotiation, and post-merger integration. Establish and manage strategic partnerships that support business growth and innovation.

Board & Investor Relations

Prepare presentations, reports, and strategic updates for board meetings and investor communications. Ensure timely follow-up on action items and serve as a liaison between the leadership team and external stakeholders.

Positioning in Germany

Represent the company in strategic discussions with key stakeholders in Berlin and the broader German ecosystem. Drive our Technology Ecosystem Collaboration (TEC) agenda and deepen our presence in the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred. 7–10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or a similar strategic role. Proven track record in strategic planning, M&A execution, and cross-functional leadership. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complexity into actionable insights. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including board and investor interactions. Familiarity with the German business landscape and fluency in German is a strong plus.
