Your role:



Our procurement team is transforming to enable our Corporate Sourcing division to advance science and technology with customers. As Head of Corporate Procurement , you will shape and drive strategic procurement initiatives that significantly impact our innovative product lines and sustainability goals. You will lead a dynamic team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, while playing a key role in our mission to make a positive difference in the world of Procurement. In this role, you lead a +€4.5 billion category of spend for indirect sourcing categories. You build solid relationships with important stakeholders to understand their business strategies, needs, and nurture key partnerships, enabling a holistic procurement approach. You nurture and strengthen relationships with key strategic partners to build a competitive advantage for Merck and ensure access to innovation. You provide a holistic procurement approach for Merck and develop sound strategies aligned across the organization.



Who you are:



You have at least 10 years of experience as a leader in procurement You have relevant background and experience for some of the areas of spend under your scope You have experience leading an organization through transformation/change You are an experienced people leader and able to demonstrate passion for developing future procurement leaders You have strong analytical and quantitative modelling skills including the ability to structure, collect, analyse, and communicate insights based on data in an organized manner You also have experience with Shared Services interfaces You are fluent in English You preferably have a background in the Life Science or Healthcare environment You have a proven track record of building effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and are regarded as a trusted business partner You demonstrated the ability to successfully navigate and operate in highly matrixed environment while achieving common objectives
