Head of Bike Mechanics / Werkstattleiter:in (m/w/d)

.


Du leitest eine große Werkstatt mit über

50 Zweiradmechaniker:innen

und bist verantwortlich für den gesamten

E-Bike-Reparatur- und Qualitätsprozess

. Gemeinsam mit deinem Team bringst du gebrauchte E-Bikes verschiedenster Typen (MTB, City, Cargo, Speed) technisch und optisch auf Top-Niveau.


Du arbeitest

ohne Kundenkontakt

in einer sehr gut ausgestatteten Werkstatt und führst dein Team fachlich, praxisnah und mit Blick fürs Detail. Abwechslung ist garantiert – vom stark genutzten Bike bis zum fast neuwertigen E-Bike.

Upway is a fast-growing startup building the largest marketplace for refurbished e-bikes with its

biggest workshop in Düsseldorf

. We are looking for a

Head of Bike Mechanics / Workshop Manager (m/f/d)

to manage the Upway workshop in Düsseldorf. The team of mechanics (>50) repairs a large number of different used e-bikes and restores them to excellent condition, so that Upway customers have a huge and high-quality selection of e-bikes at their disposal.



As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the entire e-bike repair process and ensure that the bikes are delivered in outstanding quality. You will also be responsible for building the team of mechanics and leading them by setting an example as a problem-solver and with your eye for detail in bike repairs.



You and your team will work undisturbed and without customer contact in a well-equipped workshop where the focus is exclusively on the bikes. Thanks to the wide range of different e-bikes (speed bikes, mountain bikes, city bikes, cargo bikes; heavily used to almost new), the work remains varied and challenging.

Your Responsibilities as a Head of Bike Mechanics:

Gemeinsam mit deinem Team bereitest du E-Bikes für die Auslieferung an Kund:innen vor und sorgst für einen technisch einwandfreien Zustand des Bestands Du bringst dein Know-how in

Fahrradtechnik

ein und verbesserst kontinuierlich Prozesse, Service und E-Bike-Qualität Du bist eine zentrale Rolle im Team und bringst deine Ideen zur

Optimierung der Werkstatt und der Abläufe

_______You build a successful team of mechanics You take over the management of the team You are responsible for the inspection, repair and quality control of a wide variety of e-bike brands and models You and your team will prepare e-bikes for delivery to our customers and keep the existing fleet in good condition You contribute your expertise in hardware and software and work to continuously improve our service and our e-bikes You are an essential part of our team and contribute your ideas for the optimization of the workshop and the operational business

The skills you bring:

Du hast Erfahrung als Fahrradmechaniker:in, Zweiradmechaniker:in, Zweiradmechatroniker:in, Kfz-Mechaniker:in oder bringst vergleichbare mechanische bzw. handwerkliche Erfahrung mit Idealerweise verfügst du über eine entsprechende technische Ausbildung –

Quereinsteiger:innen mit einem guten Verständnis für (E-)Bike-Reparaturen sind ebenfalls willkommen

Du hast ausgeprägte organisatorische Fähigkeiten und arbeitest gerne sorgfältig und genau Du hast Freude daran, neue Reparaturprozesse auszuprobieren und diese kontinuierlich zu verbessern Du hast bereits Erfahrung in der Führung eines Teams oder in einer verantwortungsvollen Rolle als Senior-Mechaniker:in Du verfügst über gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
_________________You have experience as a bicycle mechanic, two-wheel mechanic, two-wheel mechatronics engineer, car mechanic or have mechanical/craftsmanship experience in a similar field Ideally, you have a relevant technical qualification, but we also welcome career changers with a strong understanding of (e-)bike repairs. Strong organizational skills and an enjoyment of precise working. A passion for experimenting with new repair processes and continuously improving them. Prior experience leading a team or taking on responsibility as a senior mechanic. Good German and/or English language skills.
