At SumUp, we empower small business owners with accessible financial tools – and Lending is a critical part of that mission. Our Lending Tribe is focused on helping merchants get the capital they need to grow. As we scale, we're seeking a highly motivated intern to support strategic growth initiatives, especially in Europe.



We're a team with a bold goal: increase lending conversions and identify untapped opportunities. You'll work alongside the Growth Lead for Lending in Europe to bring data-driven experiments to life and make sure the right merchants get the right offers. We are seeking students who are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of their university or college program.

What you'll do

Assist in in strategic high priority projects like identifying promising merchant segments by analyzing performance and behavioral data using AI Conduct qualitative research and sales calls to understand user feedback and test sales strategies Support the design, setup, and analysis of lending experiments to improve conversion rates Help execute operational growth tasks like marketing campaigns and ensure experiments and projects run smoothly

You'll be great for this role if

You're currently studying business, economics, data science or a related field with outstanding academic track record Ideally you've already gained experience in top tier consulting, investment banking or other high growth tech companies You're an excellent communicator and enjoy collaborating with international teams and customers alike You thrive in high intensity environment You have strong analytical skills and feel comfortable working with data by levering AI tools, SQL and Python You're proactive, curious, and not afraid to dive into complex topics like lending and credit You're fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
