We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Expert to support the development and operation of offshore wind projects. This role is critical in providing technical expertise on geotechnical conditions to inform site selection, engineering design, installation planning, and operational strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foundation and geotechnical engineering, with specific experience in offshore wind development.


In detail, you will


Lead geotechnical assessments for offshore wind projects from early-stage development through to operations. Contribute to the planning and supervision of offshore geotechnical survey campaigns. Review geotechnical site assessments to inform the foundation design. Experience in geotechnical design and installation of offshore structures. Lead review of foundation design basis, briefs and reports including pile drivability assessments. Provide technical expertise and act as the technical contact and review third-party in offshore projects. Experience with soil laboratory and field investigations and interpretation of geotechnical data, with a focus on statistical analysis. Collaborate with engineering, environmental and construction teams to integrate geotechnical insights into project planning and execution. Ensure the application of state-of-the-art practices and standards. Contribute to risk assessments related to foundation installation, extreme events and climate variability. Support long-term climatology studies. Überzeugendes Profil
Civil Engineer with Master’s or PhD in Geotechnical engineering, or a related field Several years of experience in geotechnical analysis, with at least 3 - 5 years in offshore wind and proficiency in computational geomechanics (e.g., PLAXIS, OPTUM CE) and data analysis software (e.g., Python, MATLAB) Strong understanding of offshore wind project lifecycle and technical requirements. Further experience in the German market namely with permitting authorities’ requirements. Familiarity with bidding, regulatory and permitting processes in offshore wind markets Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and networking skills. Ability to explain complex technical content targeted to the respective audience Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in German and English, at least at C1 level Über den Bereich
Within the Offshore Wind organization, the T-PE department bundles the engineering and technology know-how of EnBW AG. It is the central point of contact for all technical topics and makes a significant contribution to the successful acquisition, development and implementation of offshore wind projects in Europe. Wind Farm Engineering (T-PEW) has the technical ownership for the areas of WTG, Foundations and Geo, Wind & Site.


Within the Geo, Wind & Site department we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Expert. The position reports to the Head of Geo, Wind & Site.
