We are looking for a German-speaking

Finance Manager

(f/m/d) to join our team here in Berlin. You’ll play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, analysing financial data, and ensuring the overall financial health of the company.


Our Finance team consists of 4 professionals, all reporting into the VP Finance, and each coming from a different country. Our company language is English, but within the team we speak both English and German. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, coachable, highly organised, bilingual, and possess a strong understanding of financial principles.

HOW YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME:



Accounts receivable

Generate and issue accurate and timely invoices Ensure proper documentation of receivables and maintain organised records

CollectionsProactively follow up on overdue invoices and liaise with stakeholders for timely payments Implement effective collection strategies to minimise outstanding balances

Support in MEC, YEC, AP, auditing and budgetingOwn Month End Closing (MEC) processes with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient planning and control Assist in Year-End Closing (YEC) activities, including financial reporting, accruals, and audit preparation Manage Accounts Payable (AP) functions, such as processing invoices, managing payments, and vendor relationships Support audit processes by preparing documentation, facilitating audits, and ensuring compliance Support Controlling functions as part of the budgeting process

Process improvementsConduct thorough process mapping and analysis within the finance department Identify opportunities for automation to streamline Accounts Receivable and Collections processes Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency Optimize financial workflows, tools, and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency"

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE:



Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, a related field,

or

equivalent professional experience 2 - 4 years of experience in finance or accounting roles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office, and Google Sheets Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards Effective communication skills in English and in German, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams


How will I know if I'm successful in my role?



After 3 months:

You should know how our business works, including our business model and what the responsibilities of your other team members are You should be able to assist with Month’s End Close You are able to control Accounts Receivable: you should know how to send out invoices, how to do follow-ups, keep control over the collection process, and provide the rest of the team the info they need in terms of cash and deferred income

After 6 months:

You are able to do Month’s End Close independently, with minimal support from our VP Finance or team mates You know how you fit into the Finance team, and how you complement the rest of the team You have mastered Accounts Receivable topics You have a solid understanding of the company’s finances, and how the company ticks You have demonstrated drive and genuine interest for your role, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt

INTERVIEW PROCESS



Initial recruiter interview:

You will engage in an introductory conversation with a representative from our Talent Acquisition team. This call serves as an opportunity for both parties to get acquainted.

Hiring manager interview:

In the second stage, you meet with the VP Finance to discuss your hard skills proficiency, communication skills and team fit

Team interview on-site:

You’ll meet with the VP of Finance and 1 - 2 team members, with a small live assessment being part of the interview
