Team Manager Service Operations

Key responsibilities

As a Service Engineer, you will support the common ABB process control systems (800xA, Freelance, AC800M, Melody) at our customers sites according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service.


In this role, you will be responsible for providing routine maintenance and on-site or remote technical support.


You will be mainly accountable for:

Performing service tasks like installation and commissioning of equipment, identifying technical problems, making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements etc.) Provision of on-site or remote technical support in the event of process control system/automation malfunctions Enhancement and modernization of existing process control systems Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs and providing specialist assistance and solutions Actively participate in automation projects from installation of the process control system to programming and commissioning of the process control system at the customer site Troubleshooting simple equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future Identifying opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment and methods

Qualifications for the role

Degree in technical studies with focus on automation technology / electrical engineering or degree as technician Professional experience (2+ years) in the field of automation technology preferred with ABB control systems like 800xA, AC800M, Freelance or Melody Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing of insert specific product and industry/sector Good IT knowledge with Windows operating systems, PC hardware, network technology as well as cybersecurity Ability to travel to domestic sites and a valid car driving license Collaborative and solution-oriented work style as well as strong communication skills Fluency in German and good written and spoken English.
