We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, and optimizing our cardiovascular diagnostic product line aimed at maternal health. You will work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and clinical experts, to ensure our products meet stringent regulatory standards and deliver exceptional performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design, development, and optimization of breakthrough medical devices, ensuring high reliability, safety, and performance.
Develop and maintain embedded data acquisition devices, edge gateways, cloud-based services and AI/ML agents.
Perform system analysis and debugging to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Contribute to the creation and review of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations, including FDA, ISO, and other industry standards.
Conduct code reviews and provided technical support to junior engineers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
Ensure the successful development and delivery of medical systems at scale, balancing technical requirements, resource constraints, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Hire and manage a team of developers, including both freelancers and FTEs.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and explore new opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in medical device development.
At least 5 years of experience managing complex programs and projects with multiple disciplines.
Proficiency in Python, C/C++ programming, experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Linux.
Solid understanding of IoT concepts and experience with cloud services such as Azure and AWS. Knowledge of data science tools such as TensorFlow and PyTouch.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git); development tools (e.g., IDEs, debuggers) and CI/CD and automation tools.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and debug complex systems.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
Experience with safety-critical systems and software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies is a must.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, leadership and mentoring skills.
