The Tesla Direct Procurement team is looking to hire a skilled Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to manage the entire process of scouting, negotiating, nominating and bringing into production the best suppliers for Tesla, specifically for Closures Commodity. You are involved in the development phase for new products, and you are responsible of ensuring continuity in the production line. You work closely with your counterparts in US and China to align on global supply chain/procurement strategies. You are also the Procurement and Supply Chain reference person for cross functional teams on product groups you manage, becoming the link between external suppliers and internal customers.
What You'll Do
Responsible in creating synergies with global Closures supply chain team and leading the execution of local supply chain operations.
Responsible in managing local accounts within the Closures commodity to ensure supply chain viability for local manufacturing facility.
Be the key local procurement/supply chain contact to internal as well as external stakeholders and lead coordination of all local cross functional activities, including but not limiting to new supplier introduction, new program launches and engineering changes.
Collaborate in localization/sourcing/resourcing RFQs and program management of supplier development activities as well as new supplier launch activities.
Contribute to selection of suppliers by continuously scouting the market and benchmarking to benefit from new trends in the global supplier market and support supplier audit activities.
Evaluate start-to-end supply chain flow and present recommendations that will result in cost savings or avoidance, with consideration of all aspects within regional supply chain flow, including but limiting to regional TLA or sub supplier base understanding, geopolitical factors, logistics flow and customs tax avoidance.
Conduct cost estimations, analysis and negotiations on pricing offers, changes and claims.
Demand continuous improvement from your suppliers based on supplier key performance indicators
Proactively involve relevant stakeholders and suppliers as early as possible in our development processes
What You'll Bring
University qualifications in Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management
Specific certifications in Supply Chain/Purchasing are preferred
Experience as Buyer of similar or relevant product groups is preferred
Flexible working in out-of-process standards
You are fluent in English. Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
Goal driven personality with good communication and teamwork skills
