Job Description

A Desktop Support Engineer provides technical assistance and support to users within an organization, focusing on resolving issues related to computer hardware, software, and network connectivity. They troubleshoot problems, install and configure systems, and ensure the smooth operation of desktop environments, often serving as the first point of contact for user support requests. Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting:

Identifying and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for users.

Installation and Configuration:

Setting up new computers, software, and peripherals, and configuring them to meet user needs.

User Support:

Responding to user inquiries and providing timely solutions to technical problems.

System Maintenance:

Performing regular maintenance, updates, and security checks on computer systems.

Documentation:

Keeping records of support activities, solutions, and inventory of hardware and software.

Collaboration:

Working with other IT teams to address complex technical issues.
Typical Tasks:

Answering user support tickets via phone, email, or in person. Diagnosing and resolving issues with operating systems, applications, and hardware. Installing and configuring software and hardware, including printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Creating and managing user accounts and permissions. Conducting basic training for users on software and hardware functionality. Troubleshooting network connectivity issues. Performing routine system maintenance, such as software updates and virus scans. Documenting support activities and resolutions in a ticketing system. Recommending and implementing hardware and software upgrades. Working with vendors to resolve hardware or software issues.
Required Skills:

Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using ticketing systems and other IT support tools. Familiarity with security best practices.

Pay: 3.500,00€ per month
