Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical assistance to end-users, ensuring that all IT-related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of various operating systems and software applications.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting. Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory. Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop systems, including Mac OS environments. Utilise ServiceNow and Remedy for tracking incidents and service requests. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including DNS and VPN configurations. Communicate effectively with users to understand their technical problems and provide clear solutions. Analyse recurring issues to identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance the user experience. Maintain documentation of support processes and user instructions for future reference.

Qualifications

Proven experience in IT support or a similar role. Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various platforms. Familiarity with ServiceNow, Remedy, DNS, VPNs, and Active Directory is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose technical problems efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with users of varying technical abilities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing processes.
