Founded in 1921, OLDENDORFF CARRIERS combines its history as a German shipowner with the network of one of the world’s leading drybulk operators. We currently control some 700 chartered and owned vessels of 40 mio tdw, and we carry around 380 mio tons of raw materials and semi-finished products across the seven seas each year. Our customers can expect 100% performance. All the way.


In the past four years, Oldendorff has invested considerable effort into modernizing and enhancing its IT landscape to state-of-the-art standards. This progress has paved the way for the creation of a cutting-edge Data and Analytics Department in 2024, ready to propel Oldendorff into the future.

Your role and impact

Join Oldendorff Carriers as a Data Analyst and become instrumental in our journey towards building a world-class data and analytics organization. In this role, you will:


Utilize Advanced Tools: Work with a state-of-the-art Software Stack including Microsoft Data Lake, Databricks with Unity Catalog, and Power BI. Drive Innovation: Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams to enhance our data capabilities. Lead Projects: Manage your own projects, taking ownership from inception to implementation. Provide Insights: Engage closely with all levels of management, to support informed decision-making and promote a data-centric mindset.

A strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality analytical solutions. Ability to structure and lead complex analytical initiatives, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach. Deep interest in understanding business dynamics and translating data into strategic recommendations. A collaborative mindset and confidence in engaging with stakeholders across functions.

Your Qualifications

Academic background in Business, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline. Experience in shipping, logistics, or macroeconomics is a plus. Advanced proficiency with BI tools with solid understanding of data modelling and dashboard development. Experience with Power BI and Databricks is beneficial. Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present insights clearly to diverse audiences in a global setting.
