is responsible for the operations of IPS’ Construction Management organisation. They focus on the development of staff and the operational performance of the division. Other duties include, but are not limited to:Supports the EMEA Construction Director and leads Construction Management group activities including field services, safety & preconstruction
Supports the EMEA Construction Director with the establishment of goals and the development of the annual business plan for the Construction Management group.
Periodically monitors performance versus project goals and implements corrective actions.
Supports the EMEA Construction Director with the business development functions of the Construction Management group.
Supports the EMEA Construction Director with the business development and sales efforts of the Construction Management group.
Protects IPS through the application of prudent risk management techniques.
Provides day to day direction of all Construction Management group operations including preconstruction, procurement, project management, construction site management, and construction site safety.
Oversees the development of the Construction Management’s group contacts and aggressively protects the corporate positions.
Oversees project execution planning across all Construction Management group projects.
Assumes day to day responsibility for the hiring, training, and development of the Construction Management group staff.
Works with Construction Managers and Project Executives to resolve project cost, schedule, and quality non-conformances.
Surveys and monitors construction sites as required to meet other responsibilities.
Meets with clients as required to meet other responsibilities. Serves as a secondary point of contact to Project Executive and/or Construction Manager for clients.
Leads the development of the Construction Management group systems, procedures, and policies.
Reviews project performance with the Construction Management group staff periodically.
Directs Construction Management group activities to ensure the achievement of budgeted profits.
Participates on IPS’ Senior Management Team to develop corporate strategies for Germany
Coordinates with the General managers and Operations Directors of other IPS divisions to optimise achievement of overall corporate objectives.
Evaluates department resource requirements and manages department staff levels to support those requirements.
Trains project assignees on good Construction management framework techniques and develop the skills of all assigned personnel.
Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.
Coordinates with the EMEA Construction Director and Operations Directors of other IPS divisions to pursue business opportunities.
Prepares and supports EMEA Construction Director in preparation of Project Delivery proposals.
Maintains personal competency in relevant professional areas.
Maintains long-term industry relationships.
Participates in professional and community associations.
Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
15+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline, including time in leadership positions.
Experience managing multi-million-dollar construction projects.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in other areas of life sciences including construction of pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.
SafetyThis position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
You may be assigned to client site for an extended period of time.
Overnight travel or staying in the city of Client’s location is possible depending on assignment.
You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
This position is a safety sensitive position.
The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for field work for IPS employees or subcontractors.
