Your role at a glance

As the Campus Construction Director, you will be accountable for leading and managing a team of internal and external stakeholders to deliver Hyperscale Data Center, Retail Data Center and Infrastructure projects. The position requires a self-motivated, construction leader who will lead a dedicated team of internal and external professionals to deliver industry leading Data Center construction, infrastructure and fit out projects at dedicated sites of the respective Data Center hub. The role is predominantly site based with some flexibility to work from home.

What we are looking for

Main tasks: - Be accountable for strategic planning and execution of NTT Data Centre construction, fit out, infrastructure projects, at the respective site(s). - Manage, develop and coach a team of internal and external Construction Managers, Project Managers and Design Managers, and General/Sub-Contractors. - Develop and foster a strong sense of ownership within the project delivery team and NTT GDC peer stakeholders to drive and maintain industry best practice standards across the campus. - Collaborate with peers in the NTT EHS and Security Organization to implement industry best practice Health, Safety and Security standards onsite. - Coach, measure and manage NTTs appointed professional services and General/Sub-Contractor teams to ensure consistency in delivery against these standards. Ensure appropriate and demand-oriented project sourcing during the delivery and value for money when appointing professional services. - Govern, measure and if required correct project performance against key performance indicators and commitments across Safety, Schedule, Quality and Cost targets. - Manage the coordination between multiple General Contractors, OFCI vendors, Operations, utility providers, 3rd party works and the public where necessary. - Collaborate with peers in Procurement and Pre-Construction in the tendering and selection of delivery partners. Review scopes of work, tender documents, tender returns, and tender evaluations. - Drive close stakeholder alignment with the Commercial, Operations and Commissioning Teams, creating a positive and transparent working environment. - Collaborate with peers in Design and Engineering to ensure NTTs regulatory and permitting requirements are clearly defined, planned, and executed on. - Perform general Construction management tasks, including but not limited to Project, Cost and change management meetings, controls, and reporting. - Provide single point of contact for project/campus development and delivery. - Provide timely and accurate reporting of project status to the Senior Director - Construction and wider business. - Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that arise during the course of the projects. - Clearly outline, define and execute construction methodologies from inception to handover on site, continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to learn and improve the end-to-end delivery. Hold effective project reviews during or post-delivery to ensure lessons learned are captured and addressed. - Collaborate with your peers across EMEA to continually assess, align on and improve the delivery methodology. - Continuously monitor, assess, and address NTT GDC project staff, External Vendor and Contractor performance and have the ability to coach the respective teams and outline objective development opportunities where required. - Align with NTTs pe-sales, sales, and commercial teams to continuously assess and implement value-added opportunities for the existing and prospective Clients. Requirements: Professional skills - Extensive experience in a site-based management role within a mission critical construction industry, overseeing multiple concurrent capex projects. - Have extensive experience in the planning and delivery of large capex projects, varying delivery methods (Management Contracting, Traditional, D&B) and forms of contract (i.e. FIDIC, JCT). - Demonstrate Data Centre and/or mission critical construction experience. - Possess excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate complex and high-pressure environments. - Proficient in the use of project and commercial management tools and processes. - Proficient in construction contract management - Clear understanding of construction design stages and deliverables - Client-side experience is preferrable. Soft skills - Excellent communication skills. - Have experience in presenting to senior leadership both internally and within the Clients Teams. - Have experience in managing and developing direct and vendor teams. - Excellent project management experience and skillset, with the ability to operate within a multi-cultural environment. - Business fluent in English, in consideration to the respective site, local language is required at a certain level.
