HOW A CONFIGURATION MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT



Configuration Planning and Management:

Developing and implementing Configuration Management (CM) plans, policies, and procedures. Establishing and maintaining configuration baselines, which are snapshots of a system's requirements, design, and other attributes at a given point in time. Collaborating with various teams, including systems engineering, software development, logistics, and program management, to integrate CM efforts.

Configuration Identification:

Identifying and documenting all Configuration Items (CIs), which are the individual components of a system (e.g., software modules, hardware parts, technical documentation). Establishing a naming and numbering scheme for CIs to ensure they are uniquely identifiable and traceable.

Configuration Change Management:

Managing and controlling all proposed changes to a system's baselines. Facilitating Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) to review, evaluate, and approve or disapprove change requests. Maintaining an audit trail of all design decisions and modifications.

Configuration Status Accounting:

Recording and reporting on the status of all CIs and change requests. Providing accurate and timely information on the configuration of the system to stakeholders. Ensuring the traceability of requirements to system performance and execution metrics.

Configuration Verification and Audit:

Conduct formal functional and physical configuration audits to verify that the system and its documentation comply with established requirements. Assessing compliance with DoD and other relevant standards, such as those from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:



Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.

Required Experience:

Proven experience in managing hardware and software configuration management across enterprise-level systems. Experience leading Change Control Boards (CCBs). Familiarity with Agile development environments and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) methodologies. Knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).

Required Technical Skills

: Strong understanding of CM principles and the system lifecycle. Familiarity with CM tools and systems (e.g., version control systems, change management systems). Knowledge of relevant military and commercial standards.

Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High levels of self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment. Leadership, negotiation, and coordination skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Certifications:

Candidate must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1. Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.

Wiesbaden Germany US Citizenship Required TESA requirements: + A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience; OR;
+ An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience; OR;
+ A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience; OR;

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
