THE ROLE & THE TEAM

We are looking for a talented Editorial Art Director (all genders) to join our creative team. This role focuses on producing high-quality editorial content with a strong visual narrative, working with writers, editors, photographers, and stylists to bring concepts to life. You will lead the creative direction for Zalando’s editorial platform ‘Stories on Zalando’. ensuring that content is engaging, on-brand, and visually compelling. The role may occasionally involve presenting on-camera for certain content, delivering it clearly and confidently in English.

Lead creative direction for editorial content, collaborating closely with writers, editors, photographers, and stylists to execute ideas. Conceptualize and execute editorial stories that resonate with Zalando's audience and align with the brand’s editorial vision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content meets quality standards and aligns with Zalando’s goals. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in fashion, culture, and editorial content creation. Contribute creative insights during ideation and execution, ensuring fresh and innovative perspectives are applied to editorial projects. Support the development and refinement of editorial concepts, ensuring the highest creative standards are met.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

3+ years of experience in Art Direction in an editorial environment. Proven experience creating high-quality editorial visuals, including photography and video content. Experience presenting in front of the camera and delivering content clearly in English is a plus. Experience working with editorial teams, ensuring alignment between creative and strategic objectives. making sure your visuals support a written narrative. You have strong knowledge of relevant industry programs and mediums — Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), CaptureOne and Figma. You have a strong interest in and knowledge of fashion and design. You are on the pulse of current fashion & social media trends, with a deep understanding of contemporary culture. You have a high visual taste level with a deep knowledge of industry trends and top tier creative work. A sharp, clear communicator with a strong ability to present creative ideas. A proactive, reliable and collaborative team player who remains professional and solution-oriented under pressure. Highly organized, able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for quality and execution. You concisely share the essence of your message and convey meaningful and relevant insights to your team and stakeholders You have practical experience working in the creative industry and/or content creation You have a relevant degree (e.g. art, design, visual comms, fashion, journalism, translating, marketing, linguistic studies) You have skills in the relevant creative tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Content Management System (CMS)) You have experience in supporting complex creative projects Fluent in English.
