Description



The Physics and Astronomy department seeks an adjunct instructor for the spring 2026 semester. This appointment is a non-tenure track faculty appointment which is designated as a part-time temporary position and does not include benefits.


Teaching responsibilities for this appointment will be to teach PHY121 Mechanics (4.0 credits). Additional duties will include office hours and advising and working with teaching assistants in connection with the courses as needed. Typically for a 4.0 credit course, the duties require 4 hours of classroom time, 5 hours of preparation/grading and 2 hours of office hours/advising. The aforementioned duties are an estimated equivalent of 11 hours per week.



Qualifications



The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Physics Education, or a related field.
