European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. For our Soft X-Ray Port group we are looking for a

X-412 Student Assistant for GUI Development

The Position

The goal of this project is to develop a GUI to display time resolved photoelectron spectroscopy data measured at the SXP instrument. The scope of the project includes:
Development of a GUI to display data preprocessed with an existing library (toolbox-SXP) Adapt algorithms and analysis procedures to the GUI Collaborate in implementing visualisation tools based on EuXFEL data analysis tools

Requirements

BSc in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar field Good knowledge of Python, especially PyQt Highly motivated to work in an international team Really good knowledge of the English language Enrolled Student



The following are considered as assets:
Experience with git or similar version control system Experience with software testing and continuous integration
