We are currently looking for a Workshop Technician who will play a pivotal part of our team where you will take ownership of our prototyping workshop. You’ll play a key role in supporting the development of new product innovations by managing tools and materials, maintaining 3D printers, and building custom test rigs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic R&D environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to contribute to both product development and exploratory research.

What you will do

Manage the workshop, tools, and materials to ensure smooth operations and zero downtime. Maintain and operate FDM and SLA (Formlabs) 3D printers, including post-processing. Handle stock levels, order materials, and process invoices. Support engineers by designing, building, and assembling custom test rigs and fixtures. Use SolidWorks for minor CAD design tasks and iterative prototyping. Assist in product testing, verification and documentation during prototype, DVT, and PVT phases. Contribute to research topics and proof-of-concept development during quieter project phases. Integrate sensors and microcontrollers (e.g., ESP32) into test setups and prototypes. Collaborate with quality, electrical, and firmware teams to support cross-functional projects.

What you should bring

Completed apprenticeship or equivalent training in mechatronics, electronics, mechanics, or a related field. 1–3 years of hands-on experience in prototyping, preferably in consumer electronics or medical devices. Strong practical skills in assembly, troubleshooting, and iterative prototyping. Familiarity with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA) and post-processing techniques. Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Basic understanding of electronics and microcontroller-based systems (e.g., ESP32). Independent, methodical, and solution-oriented work style. Passion for building, experimenting, and improving things.

What we can offer you

A welcoming workplace full of drinks, snacks, friendly faces and fun team-building events. Access to unique discounts at high street retailers, hotels, and service providers, in addition to a 50% discount on all Lovehoney products to explore and discover new ways to have fun.
