Your Role





Key responsibilities in your new role



As a working student in our team, you will build a robust, parametric simulation framework and comparative analysis across medium-voltage converter topologies for AI datacenter Solid-State Transformer (SST) systems. Additionally you will be part of producing credible comparison data and documented models that de-risk demo-board decisions and support white paper deliverables.Build modular models for 2L/3L front-end AC/DC conversion. LLC isolation, and SyncRect low-end; maintain scalable parameterization across voltage, device ratings, magnetics, and thermal conditions Implement/refine loss models (semiconductor, magnetics) and validate ZVS/ZCS operation Automate parameter sweeps and generate efficiency/stress maps and comparison figures for the white paper Consolidate findings into demo-board requirements and report trade-offs


Your Profile





Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

Study field

: Preferred graduate-level in power electronics/electrical engineering or similar

Interest

: AI datacenter power technology and understanding of SST and converter topologies (LLC, CLLC, DAB, CHB, MMC)

Experience

: Hands-on simulation with PLECS/Simulink/LTspice and Python; MATLAB a plus

Tools and workflow

:
+ Simulation: PLECS, Simulink, SPICE/LTspice
+ Scripting: Python (NumPy/Pandas/Matplotlib), MATLAB
+ EDA: Cadence OrCAD and Allegro
+ Version control and documentation: Git-based repositories, structured readmes, standardized data schemas

As a plus

: Cadence OrCAD/Allegro experience beneficial

Language skills

: Fluent in English; German skills are a plus

Availability

: 15–20 hours/week for 4–6 months

Important information:

Working part-time

: The focus is on studies. That’s why working as a student employee during lecture period is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Proper students (according to the German law) are welcome

: To work as a student employee with us, you must be enrolled at a university and not have completed all of your exams or modules for your degree programme. You must not be in a semester of leave. We look forward to welcoming you to our team for at least 6 months.

You should live close to the site

: For good collaboration, it is important to us that you can come to the office regularly to integrate to the team.
