Position Description


Are you passionate about technology and curious about how innovative plastic components shape the future of molecular diagnostics?



Join QIAGEN’s

Global Plastics Technologies

team and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international biotech environment.



As part of our engineering group, you’ll support the development and qualification of injection molding tools, contribute to product specifications and technical documentation, and assist in functional testing and analysis of plastic components.





This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers, learn about high-precision manufacturing processes, and actively contribute to the quality and performance of products that make a real impact in life sciences and healthcare.


Supporting the creation and review of technical drawings and documentation
Preparing, executing, and documenting dimensional inspections and functional testing
Analyzing plastic components and presenting results in a structured format
Creating defect catalogs for plastics parts including photographic documentation
Supporting the evaluation and creation of First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for injection molding tool release
Contributing to continuous improvement of processes and standards within the engineering team

Position Requirements


Enrolled in a scientific or technical degree program (e.g., mechanical engineering, plastics technology, medical engineering, etc.)
Experienced in working according to defined processes, with strong motivation and attention to detail
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
Confident in MS Office and familiar with modern digital tools and AI-based applications
Curious about technical products and interested in gaining insights into a corporate environment
Quick comprehension and a strong willingness to learn new topics
