Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.


We are seeking a talented

Turbopump Mechanical Senior Engineer

to join our Propulsion Systems division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing turbopump systems for cryogenic rocket engines.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the turbopump mechanical design from architecture to component design, including the maturation needs of these components Ensure that detailed mechanical analysis is performed on the turbopump components and assembly, reviewed and meets the required standards for life and reliability targets Support design iterations to turbopump assemblies and/or components, including manufacturing improvements to reduce the cost and lead time of components with the Additive Manufacturing Senior Engineer Develop validation/verification tools dedicated to the mechanical design and development of turbopumps Iterate turbopump mechanical designs using simulated and real-world test data

What we would love to see from you:

Minimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical field Over 6 years of hands-on experience developing rotating machinery or components, from concept to working prototypes Experience performing turbopump analyses (structural, modal or rotordynamics) Knowledge of turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks Familiar with cryogenic fluids Proficient user of ANSYS or equivalent Proficient CAD user (Siemens NX is an asset) Fluency in English
