What you will be doing

Join Automotive Catalyst R&D on a12-18 month mission to modernize how we handle industrial R&D data. You’ll help migrate legacy shop-floor and test-rig datasets into a star-graph warehouse, learning how to turn raw readings into clean fact-dimension structure with full lineage tracking.


This positions directly supports Project Synthetix, the AI lighthouse initiative of Umicore, and plays a foundational role in enabling its data-driven ambitions. As part of the team spearheading this development, you’ll help shape the future of AI-powered industrial innovation at Umicore in close collaboration with IS, CRD and BIT.



What you’ll do:


Build robust, repeatable ETL pipelines to transform messy R&D data into structured, queryable formats Apply dimensional modeling principles to support analytics and reporting Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to ensure data quality and traceability Contribute to the backbone of AI-driven decision-making in real-word product development

Who we are looking for

A recent graduate with a passion for SQL and Python scripting Basic understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts Familiarity with Git and data science tools (e.g., Power BI, GPT agents) Curiosity for how data drives industrial innovation and a sharp eye for detail
