Hankook Tire Europe Technical Center (ETC) based in Hannover, Germany is one of Hankook Tire’s five global R&D centers (along with Korea, United States, Japan, China) and is responsible for the development and testing of tire solutions for European road conditions – working together with premium European vehicle manufacturers. Indoor test operation and quality control for European tire production in Hungary are also controlled by ETC.



As an

Expert for Tire Wear

, you will contribute to the development and optimization of tire wear performance within our global R&D organization. You will be responsible for designing and conducting advanced test programs, analyzing results, and supporting international collaboration projects to enhance tire durability and efficiency.




Your Key Responsibilities:




Conduct field test correlation, including on-road and proving ground evaluations. Analyze and interpret tire wear patterns and surface morphology (e.g., SEM, profilometry). Plan and perform indoor tire wear tests and related evaluations. Develop and validate robust and repeatable test methodologies. Correlate and align laboratory, simulation, and field test results. Perform root cause analyses and failure investigations (abrasion, chunking, heat build-up, etc.). Actively participate in the

ETRTO Tire Abrasion Working Group

. Collaborate closely with our Global R&D Center in South Korea and other international sites.

Your Profile:




Comprehensive knowledge of tire construction and materials (tread, carcass, belt, compound, etc.). Experience in processing and interpreting large datasets from test rigs or vehicle telemetry systems. Proficiency in

MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW

for data analysis and automation. Solid understanding of international and regional tire testing standards (ISO, ECE, SAE, JATMA, etc.). Excellent communication and teamwork skills within an international environment. Willingness to travel internationally. Very good command of

German and English

, both written and spoken.
