We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to coordinate multiple cells builds which involve prototype validation and pre-production builds. This role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless integration of engineering efforts, timely delivery of prototypes, and alignment with production goals.
What You'll Do
Project Coordination: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of Cell Build projects ensuring alignment with Tesla’s aggressive timelines and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams (design, process, and testing), manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance to ensure cohesive progress and issue resolution.
Timeline Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical paths and mitigating risks to ensure on-time delivery of cell builds for testing and validation.
Resource Allocation: Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support build activities while optimizing efficiency.
Risk Assessment: Proactively identify technical and operational risks, proposing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project goals.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status updates, technical reports, and lessons learned, to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, challenges, and milestones, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic objectives.
What You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a technical or manufacturing environment, preferably in battery cell development, automotive, or high-tech industries.
Technical Knowledge: manufacturing processes, and testing protocols, particularly during prototype and pre-production phases.
Skills:
+ Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).
+ Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
+ Preferred: Experience with Tesla’s development methodologies or prior work in electric vehicle or energy storage projects.
